This is a bluehost question posted by Bob Barr on 31 December 2008
I was just looking at my list of subdomains from cPanel and found that each of my add-on domains is listed as a subdomain. Is it necessary to keep them there or can I safely remove them from the subdomain list? (As far as I know, the subdomain access URL is never used. I don’t ever use it anyway.)
A semi-related question: I use Hot-Link protection and I may have unnecessarily included a number of entries in my ‘allowed’ list.
In the ‘.htaccess’ file, does ‘HTTP_REFERER’ detect both the ‘www.example.com’ and ‘example.com’ forms of the URL from a single entry? If so, would I enter the domain name with the ‘www.’ portion or without it?
