This is a bluehost question posted by gamecat on 29 June 2006
I have a couple domains I’m trying to set up websites for. I’ve just landed here at Bluehost, as searching the boards demonstrated that the boxes here have phpsuexec, which I need for joomla to operate correctly.
I currently have both my primary and addon domains’ DNS hosted externally, and I want to keep it that way for various uninteresting reasons.
I have pointed my A records at the shared IP shown in my Bluehost cPanel for both my primary and addon domains.
However, when I ask cPanel to create the addon domain, it does a WHOIS and then complains that the domain is locked to other nameservers.
I’ve submitted a ticket, but thought I’d ask here to see if there’s some established was of getting this done.
Please, no responses instructing me to transfer DNS for my addon domain to Bluehost. I like it where it is now.
