This is a bluehost question posted by MusicSentry on 02 January 2009

I just loaded Wordpress onto my server and everything seems to be running fine, except when I try to direct my blog to http://www.mrtblog.com all I get is a blank screen.

Before I received the blank screen, I received this message.

Welcome to Bluehost.com!

This is a temporary page, that must be removed prior to viewing your site.
It is called ‘default.html’ and is located in the /public_html/ folder.
If you are unfamiliar with how to upload your files, click here.

I proceeded to delete the default.html file and now I have the blank screen. My blog works when I link to http://www.mrtblog.com/wordpress.

I have read similar posts on this exact same problem, however all problems were resolved by clearing the cache. That’s not working for me. Also, Wordpress gives you the option to change your Blog (not directory) address so that what I’m doing should work, however it doesn’t.

I have also read that I should move my files to a different directory. However I don’t understand why I should do this when Wordpress explicitly states all you need to do is change your blog address.
