Is forwarding of emails sometimes delayed?

I’ve just set up forwarding for all of my Bluehost email accounts.

In testing, I found that four of my seven accounts forwarded test emails almost immediately.

The remaining three accounts failed to forward within half an hour. I sent a second email to each of them and the response was almost immediate as it had been on the first four accounts.

I’ve checked the accounts through cPanel’s Email Manager and each of the addresses which failed to forward the first test email had both the first and second messages in them.

Does anyone have an idea as to what’s going on?
