Bluehost : Messed up my MX Entry

This is a bluehost question posted by jawnski on 21 December 2008

So I set up CiviCRM and spent many hours trying to get Civimail to work. Finally paid for an SMTP service which required me to edit the MX entry for the domain.

Turns out the SMTP service is not working out. I hate to say it but a hack like me has to be tied to the constant contact service. Just don’t have the time to d**k around any more.

I deleted the reference to the paid server in the MX entry utility in Control Panel and now my only domain is listed.

Trouble is, it’s not working at all. It’s been about 24 hours. “server cannot be found” error. The question is…once you fiddle with the MX entry does it lose its original setting? And if so, can BH admins fix it?
