I emailed the following questions to support two days ago with no response, so hopefully some of the members can shed some light on this:
1. We have a few subdomains created under our main domain. Is it possible to change the MX record for the main domain “mydomain.com” while having emails destined to “subdomain.mydomaint.com” be delivered to Bluehost’s mail server? Or once I change the MX record for “mydomain.com” all mail including those destined to “subdomain.mydomain.com” go to the location as set by the MX record for “mydomain.com”?
2. Can the MX record point to a host under the same domain hosted by bluehost where “host” is an A record in the bluehosts’s DNS entry. For example, mydomain.com is hosted by Bluehost with an A record of “mailserver.mydomain.com”. Can I then set the MX record for mydomain.com to “mailserver.mydomain.com” or does it have to be set to “mailserver.anotherdomain.com”?
