Godaddy Hosting : Changing my blog platform

I have a domain name mapped to a Typepad blog. I would now like to host the blog with GoDaddy using WordPress.

If I set up hosting for the domain name, I will noy be able to install Wordpress or work on the blog set-up because the domain is mapped to the Typepad blog.

Can anyone suggest how I could solve this problem please?

One way would be to set up another domain name and hosting, then set up the Wordpress blog then remap the “old” domain name to the new hosting account. Would this be the best way to achieve what I want?
