Host Gator has added SSH (Secure Socket) capabilities with all web hosting plans. This was a longstanding demand from hostgator customers as the SSH technology enables customers to establish secure connections between local and remote computers.
Host Gator has recently moved its headquarters to Houston, Texas, from its earlier headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida. This is done as part of a company-wide expansion - hostgator had also opened a Canadian office in Toronto few months back. The company has various exciting features linedup for the coming year, including the addition of a ROR (Ruby on Rails Hosting Plan) to its exisitng webhosting packages.
Ruby on Rails is an open source framework for building database-driven web applications and is rapidly gaining popularity with developers and cutting-edge programmers.
