On Monday of this week, we received a single notification from mail-abuse.com (run by Trend Micro) that we had a large number of IP blocks suddenly blacklisted due to a failure to communicate from our datacenter.

Myself and key members of the Abuse Department are working on getting these removed as quickly as possible. So far, it’s a slow process and mail-abuse.com is lacking in their producing of evidence but are quick to keep us blocked.

If you receive a bounce back stating you’re blocked due to a specific blacklist, MAPS-DUL, immediately email the provider who blocked you and tell them they need to use more reliable lists. The DUL list is a dynamic list that not only blocks entire ranges of IPs but also frequently blocks ISPs such as Comcast and Time-Warner. The DUL list is not to be used due to its severe lack of granularity.
