I have just upgraded from Shared to Reseller hosting a few days ago, and I can honestly say my shared host was 100 times better! 3 tickets in 3 days on reseller, 0 tickets in 6 months on shared.

My server load jumps up and down from .o4 up to as high as 34, and then back to a .o*. This isn’t just an occasional event, it’s common to see once or twice an hour. I never saw loads like that on my shared account in the 6 months I had it. It seems something is constantly failing, ftp, http, exim, etc.

I mentioned the server loads in a ticket concerning another problem and was told a customer had to be suspended for resource use. I thought all was well, since my sites actually worked for a little over an hour. Then out of the blue, I can’t load my sites pages. Checked the server load, and sure enough it’s up around 15.

Could someone explain just what might be causing all of this?

I’m still holding on to my Shared account, and I’m thinking about going back to it. IF HG would admit there are problems, and it could take some time to get things working properly, I would just change my nameservers to point back to the sites on my shared account until things get fixed.
