Hostgator Network : Gator36 Having Intermittent Problems

This is the latest network status of hostgator web hosting posted by sysops on 03 January 2006

For the past couple weeks I have been noticing intermittent problems connecting to:

70.85.249.34 (Gator36)

The server times out sometimes and lately, especially today the database has been glitching

mysql_connect(): Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket
‘/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock’(2)/home/****/public_html/forum/includes/***_***.php on line 273

, also it has been separately disgarding all persistent information regarding session information (The forum drops all information on active users and they must repeatedly log in)

Again, the situation doesn’t occur continually all day long, though it has become a regular event surfacing a couple times a day. When I first joined Gator36 held around 172 users, it’s now holding around 750, though even at 700 users it still had solid performance until a couple weeks ago.
