Just joined up with HG and new here. First let me start by saying that I’ve contacted support numerous times on a variety of issues and the help I have rec’d has been tremendous…and the response times have been very impressive, so thanks to you guys!
I don’t know where else to post this, so I’m posting here. I’m having a problem with HG’s IMAP Path Prefix and Apple’s Mail client. I contacted support about this and was told that the IMAP Prefix is “.” (a period without the quotes)
The problem is, when I enter this in the appropriate field in the Mail prefs, and save, it’s not there when I go back to check…the field is blank again.
So I tried typing in something longer like .inbox saved it and it was there when I checked again (I’ve since taken it out and it’s blank again). So it appears that for some reason Apple’s mail client won’t recognize single character or just the . character in the IMAP path prefix field.
I emailed this to HG support, but all I was told was that . was necessary.
Now the thing is, if I type “.” with the quotes, then save, and go back to check it’s there. Would typing HG’s . imap prefix with the quotes be acceptable in order for it to work correctly? I don’t know what else to do b/c just entering . doesn’t work.
Anyone have any ideas or solutions as to what to do about this? Any help would be greatly
