Can anyone please help us in plain english or give a step by step instruction list instead of refer to some directions which need a decoder to understand please?

We want to set up our site with Hostgator as a reseller but do not want to delegate our domain to their servers until we have tested the service. Access to our site which has been uploaded is currently available via the ip address supplied by Hostgator to ftp the site. Entring the ip address (instead of the domain address which isn’t delegated) only receives a cpanel page stating there is no website configured at this address.

We haven’t delegated our domain to Hostagtor servers as we want to upload test clients and our website before delegation so there is no time loss for our clients on transfer/delegation of their sites/domains to the Hostagtor servers. The scenario we are trying to resolve is to set up our own site (using the supplied ip address and not delegate our own domain until tested operations) with all facilities, including a few clients we have on file to test the procedures and ensure a smooth changeover for our existing clients. When we are staisfied with the service and system we can then upload for transfer the remaining clients and re delegate their domains to minimise all possible downtime to virtually nil as they would simply switch from the old provider where they are currentl a working site to Hostgator servers where the duplicate site is waiting for activity.

All we would like is to be advised of any options instead of refer to this item etc etc. We seem to be going back and forth when all we want to do is check the operation of the reseller system before we move our clients over.

Any help would be appreciated or if anyone can set it up for us I will gladly pay them.
