I have a pre-sales question; Does HostGator limit outgoing emails per hour, and if so what are those limits?

I ask because the current host of a client of mine is limiting outgoing emails to 250/hour. This becomes a problem when he tries to send a mass mailing to registered users (currently 700+) of his Joomla-based site notifying those users of updated content. On the other hand I understand how a hosting company would want to avoid being blacklisted.

So if you can guide me to an answer to my question or info. on what one would need to do to be able to send a mass mailing to registered users, it would help me to choose HostGator as our hosting solution!
