I have been with Powweb for years and I have had just about enough of their shoddy service, so I am looking for a new host and you were recommended to me.

My website, http://www.domeofstars.com/forum, (it’ll probably load slowly/not at all at the moment…) is primarily an SMF forum (I have a few HTML pages as well but they’re not the focus of the site). Because my forum is focused on a TV show, when new episodes air, I can get up to 700 people on the site at once - usually, however, traffic is nowhere near as high as this, with perhaps 20 or 30 people on at a time.

I have some questions I would like to ask.

1) Is there a limit to the number of connections to a database at any one time? Powweb recently introduced this and I really want to be able to manage those high numbers when they do come.

2) What package would you recommend for me? Disk space isn’t a concern but in terms of bandwidth? I will of course have a closer look but Powweb OPS only provides me with my current month’s bandwidth usage, which, since it’s the 3rd of the month, is pretty useless…

3) I read that you can transfer a MySQL database for me? That would be great as I don’t really know what I am doing in regards to transferring hosts (this will be my first time) - can you tell me what this would involve?

If I can think of more I will post them here.
