Hostgator Review : initial thoughts of Host Gator

fast and responsive web server.

fast and responsive sql server.

fast and responsive mail server.

unlimited ways to custiomise the functionality of each website (backend sql, mail, web) via cPanel and .htaccess without the need for a support ticket (so far) to change something or enable something..

bandwidth and disk space is off the charts !

absolutely no server sluggishness (memory/cpu)

(forum) support seems fast and courteous (havent used the ticket system yet)

I made alot of bad hosting decissions earlier in my career, which cause me to spend counteless hours and become mentally frustrated dealing with those issues on a daily basis, only because those low ball hosts threw as many accounts on a box as they could squeeze in, thus causing their own problems by overloading a box. Then if anyone complained, they revert to their TOS which exempts them from liability, and since you paid at least a year or 3 in advance, it seemed you were stuck in a rut. They didnt care because they already had your money, and they failed to see the larger picture of not only getting the customers, but in keeping them for life. I dont know. Maybe they were in it for a fast buck.

in conclusion, there are alot of el-cheapo economy hosts out there that costs less than Host Gator, but if you want solid uptime, great support, and fast and responsive servers, look no forther than Host Gator.
