I’ve had my account for a little over a month, and everything has gone pretty well. I’ve only had to contact support once, and that was just to get my cPanel theme switched to X3. It was handled within an hour or so. As far as I know my site hasn’t had interruptions, and it loads pretty quickly.
The only annoying thing that I can think of is that I’m paying $15/m and HostGator gets to put free advertising on my domains (For example mail.domain.com directs to what looks like a domain squatters page) and I haven’t figured out a way to disable it. Plus at the top of the cpanel control panel there are affiliate links to other services as well.
Overall though I’m satisfied, and would recommend HostGator’s service. However, I’m going to be on the lookout for a new host to host my business related websites since it looks unprofessional to have those “domain squatter” type advertisements. (If you know how to disable them, if it’s possible, please let me know.).
