I’ve been using HostGator for about 6 months now, for my Joomla CMS website. I built this Joomla site for the over-55 community where I live. I’ve been “in computing” for 25 years, but this is the first time I’ve ever built a full-fledged website. I am thrilled my Joomla site has turned out has well as it has, go Joomla!

But HostGator has been the foundation of my great experience. The CPanel Fantastico site let me setup my Joomla CMS with a fully automatic script. Wow, just like that. Then the CPanel file manager pretty much gives me full access to all the files on my site. I can do a lot through the upload managers in Joomla, and have setup FireFTP with my FireFox account, but really, the CPanel File Manager just plain rocks.

I have had a few technical questions, and in each case, a “chat” brought a support rep instantly to the table, and in a few moments in each case, they nailed what I was doing wrong, and set me on the right path (again. The site is fast and reliable, and it is just plain a joy to work with it. Everything works the way it is supposed to, and it is quite fast in my book.

I am already recommending HostGator to anyone around me interested in setting up a website. And yes, I’m pushing Joomla too. What a great combination…Joomla and HostGator.

Finally, based on my huge success with my first site, I am now in demand and am building a site for a 100-person community quilting guild. And yes, I am having them move from their old static site to HostGator and Joomla. I have built a prototype for them, and they are thrilled that they will be able to add and edit their own content right through the front end. And of course, I insist on HostGator on the backend so I can continue to be a hero (don’t want any surprises there
