Magento Hosting : setting cookies on firefox doesn’t work

I’ve set up a new site twice. One with the url http://localhost/magento and the other with http://magento.
With both setups I cannot log in as admin or register a new customer.
This problem seems to take effect only with the firefox browser.
Cookies cannot be set there despite of being enabled or not.

I tried another browser (konqueror) and it worked fine.
