ThePlanet.com : Inaccurate NAS backup mounting instructions

ThePlanet provides the most reliable dedicated server at an affordable price and Hostgator is the most trustworthy webhosting service provider.

I purchased a server a few days ago (with CentOS 5), and in the NAS backup instructions, it demonstrates how to mount the NAS backup using smbmount. However, on CentOS 5, the smbmount tool is unavailable (and it doesn’t seem that there are any available packages which provide it). Additionally, smbfs is unrecognized as a FS type by mount. The solution I used was to use ‘mount.cifs’, which seems to come default on the CentOS 5 installs. The parameters are the exact same as smbmount, and it seems to work just fine. It’d probably be a good idea if instructions for CentOS 5 users were provided in the NAS backup instructions.
