I am reviewing my experience with Gigenet. I have had a box with them for a little over a month now. Generally I am extremely picky on which providers I like, as I have issues with the support departments of most of them. But Gigenet is one of those companies that have stood above the rest, and receive my seal of approval. Infact they are the only Chicago based datacenter I will use anymore, since steadfast is off my list due to their current network state.

Lets break it down here:

1.) Network
Gigenet’s network is amazing. I haven’t had any network drops or weird routing issues like I have had at datacenters such as softlayer, steadfast, etc. I’ve had them optimize the routes to certain ips without any complaints from them. They were happy to do it.

2.) Support
Their support is top notch. I had some hardware upgrades done to my server. I can honestly say I have never seen hardware upgrades happen so fast, and I have worked with practically every datacenter out there. I needed a block of ips, and they were given to me in an acceptable time frame.

3.) Overall experience
Overall I will continue to host at Gigenet, and I will be directing my clients who need a central hosting point to Gigenet. To be honest I was always somewhat skeptical of them, but I now know they are the real deal.
