Web Hosting : hotmail rejection… rdns issue?

Hostgator and Bluehost are our best webhosts and godaddy.com is the best domain registrar.

My website is experiencing problems sending email to Windows Live/Hotmail. The site is hosted on a VPS I manage. Our DNS is handled by the domain name registrar.

The bounced message says the email is rejected. I think the problem is the reverse DNS for the VPS. When I run a reverse DNS query on the IP of the VPS (which sends mail), the address returned is not equal to the host name of the VPS. Instead it appears to be something my web host may have setup.

I think I have a good idea of what needs to be done to correct this reverse DNS problem but I want to know for sure before I say anything.

I need my host to have the PTR for VPS IP changed to server.mysite.com
