Any time I try to enter the ‘mysql’ in my command prompt on my Fedora 6 Linux , I get the following:

ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user ‘root’@'localhost’ (using password: NO)

Same thing happens with mysqladmin

I’m trying to figure out what’s up with this.
