My two sites are hosted with Net4 India for the past several years. Yesterday (8th September 2008) i visited one of my site and Norton popped up with a message - “An Intrusion was blocked”. Risk Name- HTTP Suspicious Exploit Decoder. I immediately opened the source code of the page and found the following malicious script at the bottom of the page.
This is the first time my site has been hacked. The site was hacked on 6th September. I contacted the support through their online ticket, provided them the script that has been added. I got a reply from Net4 that our site was working. I think their executives are Dumbo and were unable to understand what i meant that the site was working but scripts have been added to some files.
Most files with the names “index” and “main” were modified in several directories. I removed these corrupt files and uploaded the files again.
I checked my other site which is hosted with Net4 but on a different server and was surprised that it has also been hacked.
I did a reverse IP and found several other sites hosted with Net4 were hacked. Some sites that are hacked and still contain those scripts are listed below:
