3 offers are currently looking competitive.

iweb from Canada, dreamhost from the US and scala from the UK.

despite many critical reviews i had gone for dreamhost first. After payment they did send me a mail saying that i would have up to 48 hours and perhaps longer before they might be willed to give me an account.

Just sending that mail took them ages and even some clearification could not get them any interested in doing business.

Not any better had been iweb. After payment they were demanding faxed photocopies of both credit card sides and of my passport. Before i had even asked their support if credit card verification is fine with them.

None of these unfriendly operators offer paypal or Googlecheckout but keep bugging clients in a most inpolite way.

Total opposite had been scalahosting. Regular paypal payment at competitive rates, latest WHM cpanel, sign up quick with fast access and a capable live support that makes emails redundant.

At this time scala looks like a tight operation with very good features and speed. In fact they smell a bit like a Zoom spinoff, just a little bit better

So far so good, just hope their quality will last.

Dreamhost and iweb look great, but the attitude of the folks behind does not feel good at all.
