I am trying to find an alternative to IRC since there are many security problems with IRC and so far, I have stumbled across Ventrilo.

You’re probably thinking that this is nothing like IRC, but is it when you actually use it as a chatting application.

I’m currently hosting an MMORPG/RPG on one of my servers and the admin of that has asked for an IRC. Since IRC was not allowed on the server, I said I would try and find an alternative.

The client HAS to login to the chat server through the client application.

Anyway, what do you think? could this be an IRC alternative without the security probs?
