I have attempted to update from 6.15 to 6.16, multiple times now. I get the semaphore table error every time.
Other forum posts claim trying update.php repeatedly creates the semaphore table, and completes the update. Beyond the error (and the fact that my install is still clearly at 6.15), this all wasn’t terribly problematic.
Now, it apparently won’t recognize new modules.
I’ve installed/enabled/permissioned the Webform module. It shows in content types, but if I try to edit the content type, I am shown admin/content/node-type/webform as the url, but I am actually taken back to admin/content
I also cannot actually create any new Webform pieces of content.
I believe this may be related to the failed upgrade, since I have a fairly similar install, including the Webform module running without any issues (didn’t bother to attempt the 6.16 update there yet).
I’ve tried uploading/replacing just the affected files in the upgrade. I’ve tried overwriting everything. I’ve tried removing all the files and uploading the new ones. No change. I’ve also tried to manually select the updates to be applied, and the most recent 2 for core don’t show up in the list.
Help? Are there any other secrets to getting this update to work? Any known issues with modules post-failed-update that I should be aware

i need to hook the insert event of another node type than is specified in my module,
and i read that hook_nodeapi is the only way to do that.
But although my server is running php5 (at least it says so),
the using of the nodeapi hook creates a blank page.
Is there any other way to get this insert hook working?

I’m trying to add an inline block region to my node.tpl.php file that will display a block in my node content that’s floating to the right.
As many Drupal Devs know the region variable is not available in the node.tpl.php file. So I did some digging and found something for Drupal 5.x that supposedly works but I’m having a hard time getting it to work on Drupal 6. My reason for doing this is so that the region can be dynamic and only displayed on certain content type pages, but also act as if it’s a part of the content making it harder for the user to miss.

I want to override a template file, content_profile-display-view.tpl.php, that comes with the content profile module. However I don’t want to place the new content_profile-display-view.tpl.php file in my themes root folder as is the normal method for overriding a template file. I want to place it in a custom module.
So what function will I use in my custom module to make drupal look in the correct place for content_profile-display-view.tpl.php?

I am trying to make some changes a Drupal site of mine and the homepage is acting really strange.
There are basically three bugs occurring: I have made and saved changes to a block and it is not evident when the front page is viewed, the admin_menu module is not working (just on the front page), and theme developer module is not working on the front page. I have cleared both my Drupal site and browsers cache, and these problems still occur.
I am sure that the same problem is causing all of these issues, I just don’t know what the problem is.
Any ideas?

I am working on a drupal site which uses a background image for a logo. What I want is to use a different background image on one of the pages, how do I do that, the page I want to use a different background logo is aboutus. And the name of the new logo is aboutus.JPG. How should I edit the page.tpl.php or maybe page-aboutus.tpl.php so that this new background image shows up only on the about us part of the site?

My club posts news to a mailing list. I’ve added a dummy gmail address to the mailing list that filters out only the news. So now I have a gmail box with the newsletters unread.
I want to use mailhandler to retrieve these emails and post them. The challenge is that the sender of the emails can be any member of the club, not registered user of drupal. How do I get mailhandler to post them anyway?
This is what I tried.
I tried to tell it to choose the ‘To’ field, which is mailinglist@mailserver. Then I made a user account in Drupal with ‘authenticated user’ status, and email ID mailinglist@mailserver. Then I checked all the comment permissions for ‘authenticated user’ to administer and post comments without approval.
But still when I run mailhandler, it gives an error saying ‘unauthorized comment or posting to a closed post. If I post to the list, it recognizes me as admin and posts.

Just wondering if anyone had a suggestion for a means to add newly-created content to my sidebar. If I enable the blog module I am given an option in BLOCKS to run all new blog entries anywhere I like on the page. I’ve created my own content type, called EVENTS, but BLOCKS doesn’t give me the same option to add all new EVENTS to the sidebar. Am I missing something?
