I have a few questions about the programming (web applications) business… Any help and idea is much appreciated!
- I saw some companies require a timeframe to begin developing on new features of big websites (4+ months to develop/launch). Why is that and what is a good timeframe?
- Do you charge more per hour for small jobs (1-2 hours)? For example, if your normal hour rate is 30$, will you charge 40$ for a small job that requires 1 hour to be completed?
- Do you have a maintenance / support contract for big projects? What are the specifics jobs and generic prices? I am not speaking about server hosting and administration.
Please let me know if the above questions are based on freelance work or you belong in a dev shop.
